Get a Beautiful Smile with Dental Porcelain VeneersIf you’ve always wanted a better looking smile without the time commitment of braces or the muss and fuss of caps, you can achieve the effect of a gleaming grin with dental porcelain veneers.
Dental porcelain veneers are a near-instant gratification choice for folks who want to whiten their smile, close gaps or straighten crooked teeth. Reshaping and moderate realignment can be accomplished with porcelain veneers.
Porcelain veneers could be your front teeth dental fix if you suffer from one or more of the following conditions.
• Poorly spaced teeth
• Broken or chipped teeth
• Stained or discolored teeth or fillings
• Malformed or crooked teeth
Porcelain veneers are thin, porcelain “shells,” measuring half a millimeter or less. Despite their flimsy appearance, once these porcelain veneers are bonded on the front of your teeth, they are very strong and durable.
Dental Porcelain Veneers: The Natural LookPerhaps the best thing about dental porcelain veneers is their “you only better” appearance. They transmit light well and will look like your natural teeth.
Dr. K can let you know if you are a candidate for porcelain veneers. He’ll take the time to understand your desired dental result and clearly establish if this can be accomplished with porcelain veneers.
If you decide to proceed with porcelain veneers, Dr. K will perform some minor dental contouring of the front teeth and take a dental impression. The minimal contouring make porcelain veneers a more conservative restoration choice.
Your porcelain veneers will then be fabricated in about one week’s time and, on a return visit, bonded in place. If you are a particularly sensitive or anxious patient, you may require a local anesthetic. However, most porcelain veneers procedures do not require this.
Dental porcelain veneers can be used in conjunction with other cosmetic dental procedures such as whitening or crowns.
You’ll want to care for your new acquisition to keep your porcelain veneers looking great. Brush and floss as you normally do. Choose a nonabrasive toothpaste. A normal diet should not impact your porcelain veneers at all. Avoid using your teeth as “tools” for opening items. Any action that twists or bends the dental veneers is discouraged. If you are ready for that “you only better” smile that dental porcelain veneers can provide, contact the friendly staff at Dr. K’s office to set up an evaluation appointment.
